Hey Murf fans!

If you love Murf you might like his new "solo" project Proven Lands. He's finally finished his first EP and you can download it for free HERE. I like it, and I've had to listen to him making it for the past few months. Go get that shit!

If It's Not A Windsor I'll Stand / Fuck You, Mrs Supper...

...Is the title of our last ever EP. Suprisingly enough it contains the songs If It's Not A Windsor I'll Stand and Fuck You Mrs Supper. It's less than four minutes long in total so maybe calling it an EP at all is a bit grand. Either way, you can download those last glorious slightly-less-than-four-minutes of Mega Games recorded history over at http://content.killyourown.co.uk/post/4393833329/mega-games-if-its-not-a-windsor-ill-stand-fuck-you. Oh yeah and it's free. Obviously. It's also streaming at the top of this page.

We're gonna have some very limited edition hand-made versions of this final "EP" available at our last 4 gigs. Our friend Lewis Scott-Dyson has drawn the covers and they look nice. There's also talk of some commemorative screen printed tea towels but who knows if that will actually happen.

Oh yeah and that gig we're playing in Exeter is now being headlined by Dead To Me. Blimey!

Lots of love.

Last Shows!

So we've got our last ever shows sorted. Come see us, it will be your last chance.

Friday April 15th - York
We havn't played in York since me and Murf left about a year and a half ago. This gig is at the Corner Pin. I've never been to a gig at the Corner Pin before, it's normally filled with dissatisfied Norwich Union employees drinking their evenings away. Speaking of which, it's Rob Darbyshire's birthday! Zing! Also playing are Don't Let Paris Fool You, Foxes Faux, Just Another Warning and Travels By Telephone. It's awesome that we get to play with all these bands that we used to play with back in the day. This is the only gig we've got left that isn't incredibly southern, so if you're northern come to this,  The Corner Pin is just round the corner from the train station.

Saturday April 16th - Southampton

The day after the York show we're nashing back down to Southampton to play this house show. It's at The Crapshack, and it's gonna be the first time they've done a full band house show. Speaking of which if anyone has any mics or mics stands they can lend us get in touch! Also playing is Fun Alf off of Porches/Wegrowbeards, Tank off of Bastad! Rats! and Jimmy "The Voice" Broomfield. It will be rad, The Crapshack are good people and if you're not a dick you'll be welcome in their home. If you are a dick why do you want to come to this show anyway?

Thursday 28th April - Exeter

This was gonna be the first date of a little tour we were gonna do with ONSIND. It is now the first date of two gigs in two days we're doing with ONSIND. It's nice that our final two gigs are with them, They are one of my favourite bands and some of my favourite people. Also playing are Blacklist Royals, who are from America and play the fest and stuff, Some Sort of Threat, who is Rory and is always excellent, and Hollowhead, who I havn't heard yet.

This will be our first and last time in Exeter.
Friday 29th April - Southampton - Our Last Ever Show!

Our last ever show will be at Unit in Southampton. Above Them are playing. Above Them! And ONSIND! The chance to see Buv'um and ONSIND is more than enough reason to go to any show. Also I'm not sure if I mentioned it but this is our last show ever. Also playing are a band called Tireless. Recently I saw the guy from Tireless play acoustic and he was dressed exactlly like Luke Daines. Which is a good thing. This is also a Punk Rock Friday which means after the bands have finished playing you can stick around to hear Ricky play some Allister songs.

The day after this we're going to K-Fest to drown away our sorrows and watch loads of awesome bands who havn't split up yet.

Other Stuff!
You know that split we were gonna do with Sounds of Swami? Well what with us splitting up that's not gonna happen anymore, although the two songs we recorded will be available as a very limited edition fairwell EP with lovely hand made covers at the last gigs. It will also be online to download for free, as per. I'll give you a shout when it's ready.

So I guess we're splitting up...

Recently Matt got a new job back in Newbury. Its a job that he wanted and something that he likes doing so no one could blame him for taking it. But it means that he's now busy a lot more of the time, including a lot of weekends. Last night he told us that because of this he’s not really gonna be able to go on dedicating any time to the band, which we had kinda seen coming anyway since he got this job. None of us, including Matt, have ever wanted to do this band as an occasional thing. We don’t want to be one of those bands that play a couple of gigs every few months and have to turn down gigs all the time. We've all always wanted to play as much as possible, to gig whenever and wherever we can, and to arrange the other things in our lives around what the band is doing rather than the other way round.

So last night at practice we talked about what we wanted to do. Whether we wanted to go back to being a three-piece, of find a new bassist. But I guess it felt like whatever we did it would be back to square one. There's only so many times you can go back to square one. Also even though Matt has been in the band less time than the rest of us its still feels like he is an important part of the band, and we wouldn't want to replace him with any old chump. Finding that dedicated non-chump could take some time, and we wouldn't want to feel like we we're settling for someone who wasn't quite right. Like I said before, all we want to do is get out there, travel the country and play as many awesome shows with as many awesome people as we possibly can. But it feels like whatever we do that’s not gonna be possible for some time. There's only so many times you can go back to square one.

So we've decided to call it a day. It feels like time. Hopefully we will go out on a high. Our last two shows will be on the 28th April in Exeter (at The Cavern with The Blacklist Royals and ONSIND) and the 29th April in Southampton (at Unit with Above Them and ONSIND). We'd like to play a few shows before that though so if you wanna give us what will be one of our last ever gigs please get in touch, and we will try and do them. It would be nice to play a few more times.

I would now like to do the clichéd bit where I thank everyone who has ever helped us. But it's true. To anyone that has helped us out in any way over the years we are incredibly grateful. It would have been impossible to have done anything without the awesomeness of other people. Whether it's been putting us on, driving us around, letting us stay in their house, or any of the countless other awesome things that numerous people have done for us over the years. When I think about how many great people we have met due to this band its crazy. So many people that I now would call a friend I probably would never have met if it wasn't for this band. We've played gigs with some of my favourite bands, and seen bands who we've played with from the start become some of the  most amazing bands in the country. It's been a fun 3-and-a-bit years.

I could probably go on and get more sentimental but I think this band has always meant more to us than it has to other people.

There will be new bands coming from the ashes at some point. Keep an eye out.

P.S. We're playing in Weymouth next Thursday, best come see us while you still have a chance.

Back, Kinda.

Afternoon Blogosphere, how you all doing? Im sure you're all wondering what weve been up to these past couple of months? Well, Sam fell off his bike and fractured his hand ligament (or something like that) and we had to pull out of a couple of gigs. But we had our first proper practice in ages on Monday and next Tuesday we are recording some songs. For realsies!! Two fresh hits called "If It's Not A Windsor I'll Stand" and "Fuck You, Mrs Supper". They will be going on a split with our boys Sounds Of Swami, which will be out at somepoint, somewhere, hopefully. When we've got them finished I'm sure we'll put one of them up here for the listening of. We've also been writing even more new songs for two other splits which we will hopefully be recording in the next few months. So there.

We wanna play more gigs though, It's been too long. Having four members with four different jobs dosn't half make it difficult, but we've worked out some dates we can all do...

21st Feb - 24th Feb
28th Feb - 4th March
Then from the 7th March onwards

Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are the best days for us, we can play anywhere on those days. Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays we can still play gigs, and want to, but we're kinda limited to playing gigs within a couple of hours drive of Southampton. Aint life a bummer. So within those constraints we wanna play as much as possible, email mega_games@live.com if you can sort something out.

Our next gig is on Monday though, in Amazingstoke. Im excited. Check it out.

Blah.

Here are some photos from the Norwich gig we played last weekend. Thanks to Keri-Ann Sandra Ashton Heritage who took them and has a very long name. It was hella fun, as was the Pompey show, but I don't have any photographic evidence to prove it. The Norwich gig was the launch gig of this compilation which is raising money for Amnesty International.

It wouldn't be a Norwich gig without a human pyramid. Jugs makes an excellent cornerstone. McIpod looks on, unimpressed.

Thats it for this year. We're all fucking off to our hometowns for Christmas now. Except for Sam, whose single handedly holding the Southampton fort. I'm not sure what that entails but I'm sure he's got it covered. We'll be back next year. Bigger! Badder! Handsomer! We're gonna release some splits! We're gonna play more gigs! Murf's gone amp-buying crazy so now we don't even have to lend stuff all the time! Shit!

Get in touch if you want us to come play for you. If we can we will. Especially (but by no means entirely) on weekends. We're gonna try and do lots of weekends. Up the weekend punx!

Lots of Love
